SMART Goals Basics

The first and most important thing that we must do in both cases is to establish our objective , an objective that we will call SMART in which we will define 5 fundamental points that will serve as a roadmap for our search to be successful.

S for specific

In English specific. We must define very well what we want: square meters, distribution, height, state of conservation ... and in what area or town we are going to look for it. In this section we must answer the questions What am I looking for? What do I want? and What do I need?

M for measurable

Know how many floors there are of these characteristics on the market. In this case, the question would be: How much offer is there like what I am looking for?

A for achievable

Be aware that what we are looking for fits the budget we have . Know what I have (savings, financing, home ownership, etc.) to be able to face the purchase of what I am looking for. The questions here would be: How am I going to pay for it? And what do I have for the purchase?

Reflect on what achieving my goal will contribute to my life, answering the questions: Why do I want to change? What am I going to get?

We must establish the time that we set ourselves to find what we are looking for by responding to: When do I want to find it and what time frame do I set myself to achieve it?

After being clear about our SMART objective, we will begin a process in which we will need to be well accompanied. During the time that the path takes to achieve what we are looking for, it will be advisable to review from time to time our goal initially set.

To do this, it will be helpful to have clearly established the 5 SMART points from the beginning. Thus, we can evaluate what brings us closer to or away from our goal and rectify it to achieve our purpose.
