Guana is a lush 850-acre private island resort that is noted for its unspoilt natural beauty and picture-perfect landscapes. These picture-perfect settings include many white-sand beaches, tropical woods, and rolling hills. Guana is snuggled on the blue seas of the Caribbean. There are even orchards that only allow a couple of dozen tourists at a time to come and enjoy (only registered visitors are permitted on the island, where there are 18 rooms and villas). Because of two special events that combine winemaking with Caribbean fine cuisine, visitors of the luxury resort can now look forward to enhancing their expertise in all things related to quordle wine. These events are being held in conjunction with the resort.

Oenophiles will have the opportunity to study the fundamentals of winemaking during the two-day sessions that will be taught by the prestigious Hall Wines of Napa, which will take place against the breathtaking natural background of Guana Island. During the first session, which will take place from November 3-4, 2022, Lisa Covey, director of public relations at Hall, will lead a workshop on identifying similarities between Hall wine grapes and the tropical fruits from the orchard on Guana Island. She will also teach participants about the Napa Valley appellations, terroir, and agriculture.

Those who are interested in participating in the second session, which will take place on April 14-15, 2023, will have the opportunity to speak with Megan Gunderson, Hall's vice president of winemaking. Ms. Gunderson will discuss the more technical aspects of winemaking and wine mixing. In addition, guests will be treated to tastings of cabernet sauvignon wines, for which Hall Wines is famous; an intimate al fresco tasting dinner with wine pairings; and a visit to the island's four-acre orchard. These experiences will take place in addition to the theoretical information that will be presented during both sessions.

For participants to have fun at the events, a knowledge of Napa Valley wines on the level of a sommelier is not required. Both events are available to wine enthusiasts as well as those who just want to enjoy a glass of world-class wine on a beautiful Caribbean island. At the all-inclusive resort, where nightly prices start at $945, the two programs are intended to provide guests with an experience that is complementary to their stay. Visit the website of Guana Island for more details and to make a reservation.
